Research Description

We examine role of cilia in mice. Cilia are nanomachine motor devices that protrude from cell surface and play important role on transport of fluid in airway, brain, and oviduct. Using knockout mouse, electron microscopy, and protein engineering, we address molecular basis of motility and mechanical property of cilia: How cilia move or how cilia acquire their stiffness and integrity.

About TUAT's tenure-track program

TUAT Tenure track program prepares enough start-up grant and powefful organization that assist Tenure Track researchers. To be principle investigator, I think our program is very attractive for young researchers.

Future aspirations

I would like to carry out research that yield novel concept of biology. In future, I try to do not only cilia biology but the other fields of life sciences.
