Research Description

Veterinary medicine has been developed with human medicine. “Cardiovascular diseases” and “neoplastic disease” are often encountered in both humans and animals as their lifespan increases. My research is particularly closely related to “cardiovascular disease”.
A surgical medical device may be required for some cardiovascular diseases. Although any types of device have been developed, these devices have the problem of long-term durability or biocompatibility. Therefore, my research aims to develop devices for cardiovascular diseases using highly biocompatible artificial materials. The goal of this research is development of a new device that is compatible with both humans and animals.
Moreover, as a medical treatment, my research is focusing on "Chymase" to develop safer and more effective therapeutic agents for heart failure.
My research of therapeutic devices, diagnostic methods and therapeutic agents can be applied for not only veterinary medicine but also human medicine. I hope to absorb knowledge in all fields and improve the quality of life of animals and humans.

About TUAT's tenure-track program

For young researchers, it is difficult to obtain a research environment. The tenure track project of our university allows us to carry out research for five years and more. I think the project is very attractive. In addition, I consider that tenure track researchers in other fields work hard together.

Future aspirations

As a tenure track, it goes without saying that I will contribute to my research, but I also want to acquire the skills required as a faculty member. In addition to supporting veterinary education, I will do my best to fulfill my responsibilities as a veterinarian. At the medical animal center, I will work centering veterinary surgery and veterinary cardiology.
