Research Description

We are developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic systems based on chemistry and materials engineering. In particular, we are focusing on the invention of support-materials that can solve problems in medical procedures. For example, laparoscopic surgery is widely performed in the clinical site today. However, there are still problems that need to be solved, such as reduced field of view and limited application. We develop support-materials that can deal with these problems appropriately in accordance with the needs of medical doctors. In addition to the design, fabrication, and functional evaluation of materials, we aim to development of stimuli-responsive materials (polymers) by physical energies such as laser or ultrasound for various diseases. We are also working on the invention of new materials.

About TUAT's tenure-track program

The tenure-track system in this university is designed to help young researchers to start their own laboratory independently. Since there are a mentor and other tenure-track faculty members in the same department, we can consult with them immediately if we have any questions. In addition, other faculty members and administrative/facility staff will also follow us, so we can start our activities smoothly.

Future aspirations

I will do my best to create my own field in research and education.
